Poetry: up to three poems no longer than 100 lines each
Creative Non-fiction: up to two pieces no longer than 3,000 words each
Visual Art: up to three complete works, regardless of the number of components in each work (e.g. a set of related photographs can constitute one work)

Special Categories
› Draw Rites: up to three collaborative projects between a writer and an artist (i.e. a single submitter can only participate in and submit up to three projects). Please click HERE for guidelines.
› Spoken Word: Please click HERE for guidelines.

Submission Rules

  1. Work must not have been published previously or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. The author or artist’s name must not be visible on the creative work so that entries can be judged anonymously.
  3. You may submit work to as many categories as you wish, as long as you stay within the limits for each category.
  4. While we can publish your work under pseudonyms, please include your real name on the form. The category limits (e.g. only two short stories per entrant) still apply even when using pseudonyms.
  5. When it comes to works that could conceivably fit into more than one category (e.g. a prose poem that could also be a very short story; a poem that could also be visual art), it is up to you to pick the category in which your entry will be judged.
  6. We strongly prefer that you do not include lengthy biographical details or past publication history with your entry.
